MyNavodaya – Terms and Conditions
Introduction
MyNavodaya is an exclusive alumni networking platform created for former students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs). By accessing, registering, or using MyNavodaya (referred to as “the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), you agree to comply with the following Terms and Conditions. These terms form a legally binding agreement between you and MyNavodaya. If you do not agree with these terms, please stop using this app immediately.
Scope and Applicability
These terms apply to:
- Registration and user eligibility.
- User responsibilities and platform policies.
- Data privacy and intellectual property.
- Referral system and misuse prevention.
- Legal consequences of fraudulent activity.
MyNavodaya may modify these terms at any time. Significant updates will be communicated through in-app notifications or email.
1. Definitions
- App / MyNavodaya – The alumni networking platform including its services and features.
- User – Any individual who registers, accesses, or uses the app.
- Navodayan – A verified former student of a Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya.
- Account – A registered profile enabling platform access.
- Referral – An invitation from a verified user to another genuine alumnus.
- User-Generated Content (UGC) – Content such as posts, images, or discussions uploaded by users.
- Prohibited Content – Content violating these Terms, such as hate speech, false information, or spam.
2. Eligibility
Only genuine alumni of JNVs may register on MyNavodaya.
2.1 User Criteria:
- Must be a former JNV student, verified during signup.
- Must provide accurate and honest information.
- Must comply with legal and ethical use of the platform.
2.2 Not Eligible to Register:
- Non-Navodayans registering under false identity.
- Bots, fake profiles, or automated accounts.
- Individuals previously banned from the platform.
3. Registration and Verification
To maintain authenticity and security, all users must complete a verification process.
3.1 Registration Requirements:
- Full name, JNV batch, and contact information.
- Optional: LinkedIn profile, current city, or profession.
- Email or OTP-based verification.
3.2 Verification Methods:
- Alumni databases, school records, or peer references.
- Supporting documents like JNV ID, yearbooks, or alumni testimonials.
3.3 Account Security:
- Users must keep credentials confidential.
- Any unauthorized access must be reported immediately.
- Violations may lead to suspension or permanent bans.
4. Legal Action Against Fake Registrations
MyNavodaya takes strict action against users registering fraudulently.
4.1 Consequences:
- Immediate account termination.
- Permanent ban from the platform.
- Legal action including reporting to cybercrime authorities.
4.2 Reporting Fraud:
- Users should report fake accounts to trivikramreddy.jnv@gmail.com.
- Swift action will be taken upon verification.
5. Referral System
5.1 Who Can Refer:
- Only verified Navodayans can send invitations.
5.2 Referral Process:
- Send a referral link or code to a fellow alumnus.
- The invited person must register and undergo verification.
5.3 Misuse Consequences:
- Referring non-Navodayans may lead to suspension.
- Repeated violations may invite legal consequences.
6. License to Use the App
Users are granted a limited, non-transferable, revocable license to use the platform.
6.1 Permitted Uses:
- View directories, events, and participate in discussions.
- Share content related to alumni interests.
- Join mentorship and job-related conversations.
6.2 Prohibited Uses:
- Reverse-engineering, copying, or hacking the app.
- Using the platform for illegal, political, or commercial spam.
- Sharing or selling MyNavodaya’s content or technology.
7. Permissions and Access
By installing the app, you grant permission to access:
- Contacts – To connect with alumni.
- Files & Media – To upload photos/documents.
- Camera & Microphone – For calls and virtual events.
You may change permissions via device settings, but doing so may affect functionality.
8. Limitation of Liability
MyNavodaya is a networking platform and does not guarantee uninterrupted service and we are not liable for:
- Disputes or misinformation shared by users.
- Damages or losses from collaborations or job offers.
- Consequential, punitive, or incidental damages.
- Unauthorized use or data breaches caused by user error.
9. Intellectual Property
Users retain ownership of their own content. By uploading content, users grant MyNavodaya a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use and display it within the app. MyNavodaya branding, software, and original content are proprietary and cannot be copied or redistributed. 10. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law
- Jurisdiction: These Terms are governed by the laws of India (State of Karnataka).
- Arbitration Clause: Disputes will first be resolved amicably; if unresolved, arbitration under Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 will apply.
- Class-Action Waiver: Users waive the right to join class-action lawsuits against the platform.
11. Community Guidelines
Users must follow a respectful code of conduct:
- No harassment, hate speech, or discrimination.
- No misinformation or fraudulent opportunities.
- Avoid political or illegal content.
- All job or mentorship offers must be genuine.
Violators may face:
- Warnings or temporary bans.
- Permanent removal based on severity.
12. Third-Party Services
- MyNavodaya may link to third-party apps or platforms for career or mentorship support, we don’t endorse external content.
- We are not responsible for claims or damages caused by third-party services, users must review external policies before use.
13. Alumni Invitation Policy
Only genuine Navodayans should be referred, and misuse such as mass fake invites will result in:
- Account suspension.
- Legal action for impersonation or fraud.
14. Data Privacy
14.1 Current Policy:
- Only minimal personal data is collected for verification.
- No unnecessary data is stored or shared.
14.2 Future Changes:
- Any data collection changes will require explicit user consent.
14.3 User Rights:
- Access, modify, or delete your information anytime.
- Request complete deletion by emailing to trivikramreddy.jnv@gmail.com.
14.4 Third-Party Privacy:
- Any integration with third-party services will require user approval of their policies.
