Batch & School Information (JNV name, batch year)

Profile Picture (Optional)

Any Content You Upload (posts, comments, messages)

B. Automatically Collected Data

App Usage Analytics (for performance monitoring)

IP Address (for security and fraud prevention)

We do not collect:

Aadhaar, PAN, or any government IDs

Banking or financial information

Biometric data

Precise location tracking

2. How We Use Your Information

    The data we collect is used exclusively for legitimate purposes, including:

    User Verification (to ensure only JNV alumni register)

    Networking and Communication (to connect with fellow alumni)

    Platform Personalization (to provide relevant recommendations)

    Security and Fraud Prevention (to detect and prevent fake registrations)

    Improving App Performance (for bug fixes and analytics)

    3. Data Sharing & Disclosure

      We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. However, we may disclose data in the following situations:

      Legal Compliance: If required by law enforcement agencies under Section 69 of the IT Act, 2000.

      Security and Fraud Prevention: In cases where a user violates our terms (such as impersonation or fake registration), we may take legal action and report the incident.

      Technical Support: To trusted IT service providers who help maintain our platform, provided they are bound by confidentiality agreements.

      4. Data Storage & Security Measures

      We follow Reasonable Security Practices as per IT Rules, 2011, including:

        End-to-End Encryption (for chats and sensitive data)

        Role-Based Access Control (only authorized personnel can access data)

        Regular Security Audits

        We store data only as long as necessary for platform functionality. If you delete your account, your data is permanently erased within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

        5. User Rights & Control Over Data

        As per Indian data protection laws, you have the following rights:

          Access and Correction: View or update your personal information in the app.

          Data Portability: Request a copy of your stored data.

          Right to Erasure (Account Deletion): You can delete your account and all associated data.

          In compliance with Google Play and IT Rules 2011, users can delete their account directly from the app under Settings > Delete Account. Alternatively, you can request deletion via email at [Insert Support Email], and we will process it within 7 working days.

          6. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

          We do not use third-party advertising cookies. However, we use essential session cookies for:

            Login Authentication

            Fraud Prevention

            You can manage cookie preferences directly through your device settings.

            7. Referral System & User Responsibility

            Alumni Invites: Only verified JNV alumni are authorized to invite other alumni to join MyNavodaya.

              Fake Registrations: If someone falsely registers as a JNV alumnus, legal action will be taken, and their account will be permanently banned.

              8. Children’s Privacy

              MyNavodaya is intended exclusively for JNV alumni, who are typically over the age of 18. Minors under the age of 18 are not permitted to register on the platform.

              9. Policy Updates & Notifications

              We may update this Privacy Policy to comply with legal changes or to improve transparency. Users will be notified via email or in-app notifications prior to any changes taking effect.
